Logetegui position under threat

Sevilla are in desperate need of a victory when they host Borussia Dortmund in Group G on Wednesday.

The Spanish club have made a poor start to the season and suffered another loss at the weekend, when they were beaten 2-0 at home against Atletico Madrid. That leaves them in 17th place in La Liga after seven games (W1 D2 L4).

Their Champions League campaign has not been any better, with Sevilla losing 4-0 at home to Manchester City and then drawing 0-0 at Copenhagen. With Manchester City always likely to win this group, the second spot looked like a straight fight between Sevilla and Dortmund. Should the Germans win this one, they'll take a huge step towards qualification and the Sevilla manager Julen Lopetegui, could well pay with his job.

Not that Dortmund have been flawless themselves. At the weekend they lost 3-2 at Cologne, which was their third defeat in their last four games (W1). That includes a 2-1 away loss at Manchester City in the Champions League, which followed a 3-0 win over Copenhagen. Dortmund are currently fourth in the Bundesliga and second in Group G.

Sevilla's home losses have come against top teams

Borussia Dortmund go into this game as the 2.568/5 favourites to win, with Sevilla at 2.982/1 and the draw at 3.613/5.

That looks a short price for the Germans, considering that they aren't in reliable form themselves. Sevilla's home form has been poor (P4 W0 D1 L3), but their three losses have come against quality opposition in the form of Barcelona, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid. On the road they are unbeaten in their last three games (W1 D2).

It's perhaps best to avoid the result. Dortmund have conceded in each of their last three away matches. You can back both teams to score and under 3.5 goals at 2.89/5.
