Carlos Tevez was born on the 5th of February 1984 in Buenos Aries, Argentina. He made his debut for boyhood club Boca Juniors in 2001, aged 16, drawing instant comparisons to the great Diego Maradona. He remained at Boca until 2005 when he was signed for $16million by Corinthians. During his time in his homeland, he won one league title, one Copa Libertadores, and the now defunct Intercontinental Cup.

His time in Brazil was brief, albeit successful. In his two-year tenure at Corinthians, he scored 25 goals in 38 games, winning the league and finding himself named as player of the season. In 2006 he moved to West Ham, in what is still one of the most controversial football transfers of all time.
Tevez spent one season at Upton Park and was vital in helping the club fight off relegation in the 2006-2007 season, scoring seven goals in 26 appearances. The Premier League fined West Ham a record £5.5million after it emerged that Tevez was partially owned by businessman Kia Joorabchian, which broke strict Premier League protocol. The club were also ordered to pay Sheffield United £20million since, had it not been for Tevez, the Hammers would probably have been relegated, rather than Sheffield United.
He then moved to Manchester United on a two-year loan deal. For the Red Devils, he played 99 times and scored 34 goals. He also won back-to-back Premier League titles, one League Cup, and one Champions League medal. Although United agreed a £25.5million deal in principle with Joorabchian, Tevez rejected the move after only sporadically starting for the club.
At the start of the 2009-2010 season, Tevez did the unthinkable by crossing Manchester to join United rivals Manchester City in a £25.5million deal. During his first season at the club, Tevez bagged 23 league goals in 35 appearances, helping the club finish fifth.
The 2010-2011 season saw Tevez hand in a transfer request in December. However, he withdrew it not long after, and finished the season with 20 goals from 31 league appearances, helping City to finish third and earning them entry into the Champions League for the first time.
The 2011-2012 season saw Tevez have a huge bust-up with then coach Roberto Mancini, who claimed that Tevez refused to come on as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in September. Tevez, who denied the allegation, turned nomad until returning to training in February, and helping the club win the Premier League. In his last season for the club he made 28 league appearances and scored 11 goals, before being sold to Juventus for £10million in the summer of 2013.
