Gary O'Brien

Gary O’Brien is a broadcaster and racecourse commentator who, in January 2019, was appointed chief presenter in Ireland for Racing TV. From Malahide in north Dublin, he initially worked for Irish Racing Services before moving to London to take up a voiceover role with SIS in 2002. He was part of ATR’s on-course team from 2004-2018, and has also been a member of BBC Radio 5 Live’s Grand National commentary team for the last fifteen years. An enthusiastic racehorse owner, Gary has tasted success with the likes of 2014 Ladbroke Hurdle winner Bayan and smart staying chasers Vics Canvas and Folsom Blue.
