The Cheltenham Festival dominates the jumps racing season and 2009 looks set to be a classic. The highlight among many is likely to be Friday’s Gold Cup where Kauto Star, imperious in the 2007 edition, looks set to re-oppose Denman, stablemate and hugely impressive victor of the race last year. Paul Nicholls, trainer of both, will also bring 2008 Champion Chase winner Master Minded for a tilt at regaining that same crown. The Irish challenge will be strong in the hurdles with Hurricane Fly and Quinola Des Obeaux both strong horses for Willie Mullins.
