Betfair Sprint Cup: Almeraq 5/2 fav to complete Haydock and Royal Ascot double on Saturday

Almeraq is the 5/23.50 favourite to win the 2026 Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock after a field of nine runners were confirmed for Saturday's feature contest at the latest declaration stage.

The Group 1 is the highlight of a fabulous day of Betfair-sponsored racing at the Merseyside course.

Clive Cox's Coppull is the big mover in the field at this stage and is now the 7/24.50 second favourite from 9/25.50.

Last year's Betfair Sprint Cup second Kind Of Blue is 4/15.00 while the 2025 winner Big Mojo is 7/18.00 to retain his Group 1 Haydock crown.

How Betfair Sprint Cup contenders have performed this season

Following his Group 1 success at Royal Ascot, Almeraq is looking to bounce back from a disappointing performance in the July Cup where he could only finish a well-beaten ninth. 

Big Mojo, who finihed one place behind Almeraq in the July Cup, returned to form by winning a Group 3 at the Curragh last month. 

Coppull fared best of the Betfair Sprint Cup market leaders in the July Cup when finishing a close up fourth, and he has since won the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes at Newbury over seven furlongs, which could play to his advantage if the ground at Haydock on Saturday remains on the soft side.

Kind Of Blue has a lot to find with Almeraq on their Royal Ascot form, but he arrives fresh after just two runs this season and clearly loves this race having finished runner-up in the last two renewals.
