A horse who used give Kyprios trouble in his pomp comes here with a cracking chance to follow up from his Irish St. Leger trial win. He was very impressive that day after a year off following a tear away, staying on strongly win when defeating the progressive Kizlyar.

This does not look like a strong renewal of the race with most of the field being handicappers giving Queenstown a clear class edge over his competition. I believe he should firmly capitalise on this and with Ryan Moore back in the saddle, he looks the clear pick in the Doncaster Cup.

Doncaster, 15:35: Nochebuena on a lenient mark

A course and distance winner in a novice earlier in the summer, defeating the promising Kenneth, comes here after an unfortunate loss at Ascot to the very progressive Hoseki. Hoseki has gone on to frank that form in very impressive fashion indicating a mark of 87 could be very lenient here for Nochebuena.

The favourite Silver Lake will take all the beating, however she is moving up in the weights while also trying a new trip so I'm willing to take her on with the ever improving Nochebuena.

Ballinrobe, 15:24: Debutant could be ace in the pack

A horse who makes plenty of appeal on paper making her debut in a terrible race means I'm willing to take a chance that We're Out Of Aces is at least average, which would be plenty good enough to win here.

Divine Believer and Misty Cove set the standard on form, however both were well beaten in their respective maiden hurdles. Obviously, improvement could be on the cards however I'm willing to chance that We're Out Of Aces is good enough to usurp both.

Ballinrobe, 18:40: Fortunes set to change for consistent mare

Lady Doyanne is a mare who has been very unlucky in her last number of starts, running huge races but bumping into one each time. This looks a competitive affair again though it's one which she can win. Last time out in Wexford she came up against a well fancied Declan Queally horse who has since franked that form.

The time before she encountered the reopposing Ballybrittas, one of the main dangers here, however she meets on much better terms this time around. I'm willing to give her another opportunity to get her head in front, and with Alan O'Sullivan booked to ride, I only see positives for her.
