Manchester City took another huge step towards winning this year's UEFA Cup after beating Aalborg 2-0 at home and now trade at just 5.3 on Betfair to lift the trophy.
Felipe Caicedo was backed at [8.0] to open the scoring before Shaun Wright-Phillips added a second just before the break. The City win was matched at just 1.68, whilst the correct score touched [9.2]. A place in the next round is not quite a certainty but deemed very likely with Robinho and his pals just a [1.1] chance to progress.
Last year's winner Zenit St Petersburg have it all to do if they are to defend their title. They now trade at [24.0] to win the competition courtesy of the 2-0 deficit they will take to the second leg of their clash with Udinese. The Italian side traded at 8 to win the match before two late goals put them very much in the driving seat for the tie; 2-0 was matched at [38.0].
Werder Bremen are Man City's closest rivals in the betting for the UEFA Cup at just [6.4] after taking a priceless one goal lead into the second leg against Saint Etienne. Werder Bremen only ever touched [1.68] to win the match and are strongly fancied to progress - they are just [1.23] on the "to qualify" market.
Elsewhere there was a win Marseille over Ajax after the home side traded at [2.12] and at odds of [14.0] to win the Cup, they must be considered serious contenders as well.
