Tottenham hit the exchange's basement price but concede two late goals to scupper the backers at the shortest odds

Under-pressure Tottenham traded at 1.01 (1-100) to land a much-needed win when leading 3-1 at Fulham but succumbed to nerves, drawing the match in a result that will hurt the fans but delight Spurs' layers on Betfair.

With a two goal lead and just 13 minutes to play the Lilywhites traded at the exchange's basement price of 1.01 - that is punters were willing to bet £100 to win £1.

More than £300,000 was traded at odds from 1.01 to 1.10 (1-10) as the north Londoners looked set fair for victory.

Liverpool are now 3.65 for the title.

Merseyside rivals Everton look set for a strong season but left it late away to Bolton. Joleon Lescott's 90th minute winner landed a handful of bets at 15.5.

Newcastle and Wigan appeared to be playing out a 0-0 draw at St James' Park until Michael Owen scored in the 87th minute. The stalemate traded at 1.4.
