Jonny Wilkinson is an English rugby union player who currently plays in the Top 14 with Toulon having spent 12 seasons with the Newcastle Falcons in the English Premiership. Wilkinson was a key member of England's 2003 Rugby World Cup winning squad, kicking the winning drop goal in the last minute of injury time in the final.

Wilkinson began his professional career with the Newcastle Falcons in 1997, breaking into the Newcastle team during the 1997-1998 season and playing an important role in helping the club win the Premiership title. By March 1998, Wilkinson was in the full England Test squad, coming off the bench against Ireland to make his debut at just 18 years of age.
The fly half was named in the 1999 World Cup squad, making his tournament debut in the 67-7 victory against Italy, scoring 32 individual points. Wilkinson was relegated to the bench for England's quarter-final defeat against South Africa, but was soon a key part of England's squad.
The following year Wilkinson played in all five games of England's triumphant 2000 Six Nations campaign. Wilkinson then toured South Africa with England in June 2000, kicking all of the points in their 27-22 win in Bloemfontein, ending the year with another three caps to his name.
By the time Wilkinson was named in England's 2003 Rugby World Cup squad, he was widely regarded as one of world rugby's best number-10s, a reputation he enhanced during a sensational tournament, capped by kicking the winning goal in the final.
Despite suffering a string of injuries following the 2003 World Cup, Wilkinson got himself back into the England side before the 2007 World Cup, leading England to the final before narrowly losing to South Africa.
Wilkinson played in his fourth World Cup in 2011 before announcing his retirement from international rugby after England's quarter-final exit in New Zealand, bringing an end to a career that had yielded 1,179 points from 91 appearances. Wilkinson also toured twice with the British and Irish Lions, in 2001 to Australia and 2005 to New Zealand, scoring 67 Test points in his six starts for the Lions.
In 2009, Wilkinson ended his 12-season stay with the Newcastle Falcons, signing for ambitious French side Toulon. After a successful three years in France, Wilkinson finally led the club to the Heineken Cup title in 2013, winning the tournament for the first time in his illustrious career.
