Step forward broadcaster and writer Adam Boulton who will be hosting three US election podcasts for Betfair and writing for Betting.Betfair's US election blog in the build-up to 5 November.
Currently a presenter for Times Radio and columnist for Sky News and the i newspaper, Adam brings a wealth of experience and knowledge drawn from a career that spanned four decades in the parliamentary lobby, including stints as political editor of Sky News and political columnist for the Sunday Times. He has interviewed every British prime minister since Sir Alec Douglas Home.
Adam is synonmous with US election coverage in the UK and, in 2020, was the first person on British Television to "call the US Election" for Joe Biden, live from Washington DC.
He has covered American presidential elections since 1988 and conducted extended television interviews with Presidents Barack Obama, George W Bush and Jimmy Carter. As a reporter he has also interacted as a reporter with Ronald Reagan, George H W Bush, Bill Clinton in the White House and elsewhere. He interviewed Donald Trump down the line, but Trump just bellowed.
Adam has covered some of biggest stories in modern US history, from the Iran-Contra affair in the 1980s, numerous summits including Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, G7 and G20. He reported on the collapse of Lehman Brothers in 2008 and, later that year, moved to Washington to report on the election and first 100 days of the Barack Obama Administration.
