And they're off... Royal Ascot starts on Tuesday

Joseph O'Brien: "This round mile should suit him well, as should the fast ground, and Frankie Dettori has been booked for the ride. We just hope that he gets back on track and if he does, his form from last year entitles him to run well."

Royal Ascot 2021 gets underway on Tuesday so get our horse racing experts' best bets and insight from our ambassadors Ryan Moore and Joseph O'Brien...

Ryan Moore at Royal Ascot: A strong book of seven rides on day one

We have a wonderful week of racing to look forward to with Royal Ascot commencing on Tuesday and Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore has a full book of seven rides on the afternoon.

Ryan says: "Keep Busy tends to need her first run of the campaign so I think you can expect her to be a lot sharper for her fifth in heavy ground at Haydock on her return, a race in which she wasn't beaten far, anyway.

Her Group 1 form at the Curragh and in the Abbaye gives her an each-way chance, and she did run well when bumping into Art Power, who was running off just 97, in the 3yo 5f handicap at this meeting last year."

Joseph O'Brien: Two talented horses going for glory on day one at Royal Ascot

Joseph O'Brien has two runners on the first day of the Royal meeting, and both are very classy individuals with big chances if performing to their best.

Joseph says: "Thunder Moon was one of our biggest hopes for this season having won the National Stakes at the Curragh so impressively last year, so we were obviously very disappointed with his run in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. We had been very happy with his preparation, but from the very early stages of the race it was clear that he wasn't himself, as he never travelled a yard.

"The only potential reason we could point to is that he got quite colty and wound up in the preliminaries which wouldn't be at all normal for him. He hadn't done that before, so one can only hope that he doesn't do it again, but from our point of view we have been very happy with him in recent weeks.

"This round mile should suit him well, as should the fast ground, and Frankie Dettori has been booked for the ride. We just hope that he gets back on track and if he does, his form from last year entitles him to run well."

Royal Ascot Day 1 Tips: Kevin Blake hot on Breeders' Cup Mile winner

Racing pundit Kevin Blake has lined up a trio of chances on day one including an Australian runner to take on the favourite in the Queen Anne Stakes.

Kevin says: "I'm happy to take on Palace Pier with one that may well be more favourably positioned in the shape of Order Of Australia. It took his connections some time to find out that a mile was his best trip, but he proved it in no uncertain terms when winning the Breeders' Cup Mile at Santa Anita at a big price last November.

"Order Of Australia has been trained as a miler from the outset of this campaign and with this being just his third start at that trip since his debut, there could well be scope for him to improve. This race has been his target all season and with him likely to sit in a handy position, it would be no surprise to see him go close."

Kevin's bet: Back Order Of Australia to win the 14:30 @ 6.05/1

Royal Ascot Day 1 Tips: A magnificent seven bets for Tony Calvin to start the Royal meeting

Tony Calvin provides an in-depth preview of the first day of Royal Ascot 2021 and picks seven tips for you to consider.

Tony says: "Bless Him is my number one bet at 25/1 each-way, three places, without the favourite. He would still be a bet at 18/1+.

"The last time he had his optimum conditions he ran all over Lord North giving him 4lb over course and distance on good to firm ground here in September, and he really was spectacularly impressive there. Of course, Lord North has improved massively since in winning his two Group 1s since but he was only running off 97 that day."

"A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then and he has not bettered that performance but I reckon he has been performing to a pretty similar level throughout 2021 under less-than-ideal conditions, including when racing around a bend when third at Lingfield and second to Palace Pier in the bet365 Mile on his two most recent outings."

Tony's bet: Back Bless Him at 25/1 each-way, three places, with Betfair Sportsbook in without favourite market in 14:30 at 26.025/1
