Saturday Horse Racing Tips and Insight

13:50, Sandown - Timeform Verdict: Aussie mare can return to winning ways

With blinkers refitted and tongue strap added, Asfoora took a step back in the right direction when not beaten far at Royal Ascot and she can build on that effort in this grade.

The smart Australian mare is taken to get the better of Rumstar, who landed this race last year, while Words of Truth scored in good style over C&D on his latest outing.

14:05, Newmarket - Mark Milligan: Ole Ole to an early winner

As punters, we can often get obsessed with the quest for value and, while that clearly isn't a bad thing, sometimes it can be best to keep things simple and that's what I'll be doing on Saturday. None of the three selections are earth-shattering prices but all have solid chances of winning and I wouldn't put off anyone combining them in multiples if that's the way you like to play.

The progress Arc Ole Ole looks to get us off to a winning start and Dylan Cunha's three-year-old looks sure to be suited by stepping up to 1m 6f for the first time in this handicap.

The winner of three of his five career starts, the selection went to Royal Ascot's King George V handicap in search of a hat-trick and ran a fine race to be beaten just over three lengths into fifth by Enceladus despite things not panning out ideally for him.

He'd likely have been even closer with a better run through and I expect Arc Ole Ole to take this as a stepping stone to the Melrose at York next month.

14:25, Sandown - Katie Midwinter: Chief fancied to boss rivals

Likeable gelding Tribal Chief has often promised to strike in a big-field, valuable handicap, but has lacked luck on a number of occasions. He's on a workable rating of 93, only 3lb above his last win, and has put in two competitive efforts so far this term, finishing third in both the Lincoln at Doncaster and the Victoria Cup at Ascot.

Trained by the in-form David Menuisier, the son of Sioux Nation has amassed plenty of valuable experience during his career to date in similar contests. He is well-treated at the weights if able to enjoy a favourable trip, and may finally reward the faith under Saffie Osborne.

14:40, Newmarket - Katie Midwinter: Unexposed Lady can go well

Unexposed filly Lady Roisia has caught the eye previously and shaped well on reappearance in Listed company at Newbury in her penultimate start when returning from a 226-day break. She was sent off at odds of 50/151.00 for the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot, but was luckless when unseating early on, stumbling upon leaving the stalls.

Making only her fifth lifetime start here, the daughter of St Mark's Basilica could outrun her odds as she is a maiden winner who has also placed behind Touleen. There should be more to come from her and the extra couple of furlongs over this mile-and-a-half distance may suit.

Out of Oaks winner Talent, with plenty of black-type in the pedigree as well as middle-distance form, Lady Roisia is well-bred and could be worth a second glance. The best may be yet to come from her and she makes each-way appeal under Hector Crouch.

15:00, Sandown - Sam Turner: Drop in trip and grade set to suit

The 1,000 Guineas was largely a non event for Silenciosa who got warm beforehand and, as a result, raced too keenly in the early stages in the pack situated on the far side - a group which also included subsequent top-level winners Precise and Venetian Sun.

That the selection was only beaten eight lengths was a result of her inherent quality and she could be a tidy price to build on the promise of her run in the Fred Darling Stakes at Newbury in the spring when she endured a troubled passage and only got going late.

That race has also thrown up winners and Silenciosa could be worth risking here returned to seven furlongs at a lower level for a stable which has been among the winners of late.

15:15, Newmarket - Katie Midwinter: In-form jockey has a Sporting chance

James Owen-trained Sportingsilvermine is 9lb higher than when a dominant winner at Beverley in his penultimate start, but is on the same mark of 86 as when a good third at odds of 11/112.00 in a higher class York handicap when last seen. He had been competitive from a similar rating last term, making the frame on multiple occasions from a 2lb lower mark of 84, and, following a disappointing spell during the spring, proved he still retains plenty of ability.

In good form currently, and having finished fourth at odds of 22/123.00 in the race 12 months ago, albeit on a different track at Haydock, the five-year-old could be capable of a bold showing for James Owen under in-form rider Marco Ghiani, who is currently operating at a 30% strike-rate in recent weeks.

15:35, Sandown - Alan Dudman: River can sink Eclipse Stakes rivals

We have a straight shootout then by my thinking and while wholly unoriginal, Constitution River on the Chester performance should have the beating of the field.

At 8/111.73 the price is not one that will make riches to shop for a clock in the workshops of Le Froy, but I've revisited the Chester win again and the way he moved up the inside to accelerate was so impressive and at 9f was the only runner to crack 12 seconds, likewise his final furlong as outlined previously.

We had some fun and games with going reports at Chester for their May meeting, but Timeform rated the going good to firm, and he shouldn't be inconvenienced by Saturday's going at Sandown, which could go pretty quick in the baking heat.

Boring, but a straight forecast or without Constitution market is the way to go, and hopefully Aidan is not going to sacrifice Hawk Mountain like he did with True Love recently, and as we always like to ask AI the most challenging of questions, it came up with "O'Brien has turned Sandown into is personal playground, and his current squad looks exceptionally tough to beat".

Good prose from the machine.

1) Constitution River

2) Hawk Mountain
