Rachael Blackmore Superboost
Day one of Aintree saw Betfair's Superboost land as Rachael Blackmore and Bob Olinger finished in the top two on Thursday, and today we are boosting her once again onboard Envoi Allen!
You can back Rachael and Envoi Allen for a Top Three finish in the 15:30 today at Aintree at the Superboost price of 6/42.50! (was 4/51.80).
Mystical Power is the odds-on favourite for this Grade 1 following his second in the Supreme and he will be tough to beat with this track likely being more suitable for him. Rather than take him on, I think there's an appealing bet in the without the favourite market.
Mistergif finished behind Mystical Power and Firefox in the Supreme but he ran better than his finishing position suggests. The rush to the first hurdle seemed to immediately take him out of his comfort zone as he had to be shaken along and that pressure likely caused the mistake at the first hurdle. He then raced towards the back of the field before making headway to be in a challenging position turning the final bend and jumped the last close up in third but faded up the hill and finished fifth.
While the race didn't pan out ideally for Firefox too and he finished ahead of Mistergif, I thought that was due to his lack of tactical speed and that may be the case once again today even though it seems they will be looking to make more use of him. I expect the experience of the Supreme will have brought Mistergif on mentally quite a bit too and he should travel smoother in the very early stages of the race as a result. Hopefully he won't have as much ground to make up as was the case at Cheltenham.
I would have ideally liked to see the hood taken off Mistergif as this race should be strongly enough run so that he would settle fine without it but I think he should be closer to Firefox in the market and any 5/23.50 or bigger appeals in the without the favourite market.
