Keep an eye on McGivern debutant in far from Majestic race
Back So Majestic @ 17/2 in the 17:30 at Dundalk
Yesterday's two selections both hit odds-on in-running at 1.68/13 and 1.201/5 but came up short, and while I played the newcomer Through The Ages at a short price on Thursday, a debutant at 17/2 had attracted money on the Sportsbook at Dundalk, and So Majestic looks interesting.
Those with experience in the field are rated mostly in the 60s and one 77, so it should be winnable, or at least to hit a place.
So Majestic breezed at 160k but re-sold for a lot less as a 3yo, and was bred by Sunderland Holdings as the dam is by Sea The Stars.
Her dam won on debut at Dundalk for John Oxx and from stall seven, she has a good position tonight to race away from the inside.
Six furlongs might look a little on the sharp side to start off with, but she's worth an each-way interest for Wexford trainer Kate McGivern.
No Trouble with top weight
Back No Trouble EW @ 7/1 in the 18:30 at Dundalk
Trainer John McConnell is double-handed in the 18:30 with Wild Shot and No Trouble, and preference is for the latter at 7/1, and we also have the Extra Place Special on the Sportsbook for the each-way angle.
In fact, McConnell's two chances hold similar profiles in the sense they both raced over a shorter-than-ideal trip last time and both will be far happier upped to 1m4f this evening.
He also has Cillian McConnell on and able to claim 7lbs.
No Trouble ran off 77 last time and has been dropped 2lbs, meaning he can sneak into this 0-75 grade as top weight and he previously travelled ever so well in a CD Claimer before Christmas when finishing second. He hit 1.330/100 on that occasion.
Last time out his effort over 1m2f was creditable considering the factors went against him - notably the steady pace. Bowerman was a 2/1 favourite in that race and he's a Group 3 winner, and there's no Bowerman in this.
No Trouble as five-time course winner shades it out of the McConnell pair, although you can play both each-way in a place multiple on the Sportsbook.
