Thorough stayer looks hard to beat

A couple of non runners have thinned the field for the 16:05 at Newcastle, but there's a bit of quality here for the 0-135 and Lucinda Russell's Inox Allen certainly appeals.
He won back-to-back Novice and Maiden Hurdles at Ayr and Hexham in the winter and returned after a 68-day break in the Grade 2 Prestige Hurdle at Haydock.
That was his first run since wind surgery and he wore the tongue tie on that occasion for the first time, and both factors meant he emptied a bit in the bog-like ground.
The 3m might have stretched him too as he finished well beaten.
But he switches to a handicap today from 124 and he's back down in distance to 2m5f. I expect better now from his mark and also now he's hopefully had his wind and breathing sorted.
His trainer Lucinda Russell uses Patrick Wadge, who I think is top drawer for his claim and he's 4-17 at Haydock this term at 24%.
Syd Hosie's Rivers Corner has thrived since going up in distance and the test at Newcastle today in the ground and the stamina search will suit him.
He's a short price which is understandable at 11/82.38 from 7/42.75 this morning on the Betfair Sportsbook.
Victory at Tanunton last time in testing going highlighted his ability to stay as he outpointed Tiny Tetley (a winner since to boost the form) and there was a massive 36L back to the third.
He won easily at Newcastle too in heavy going and he relishes not only the ground but also a proper old fashioned test as he is a thorough stayer.
