A decent card at Plumpton today and the ground will be on a good side too despite some showers forecast, and the golden spell of Chris Gordon can continue with I'd Like To Know in the Sussex Champion Chase Handicap.
This lightly-raced chaser doesn't appear hamstrung by ground with form in both heavy and good and he was impressive on just his second chase start last time at Newbury in a 0-130.
He was convincing there winning by 5L and made the running too. Up to 128, he looks a horse well capable of going to a decent level.
He got beat by Gary Moore's Issar D'Airy on his chasing debut but the pair in that race were a country mile ahead of the third.
Gordon was in red-hot form at the track yesterday and while his season hasn't been the best, his horses are clicking into gear and I'd Like To Know is certainly one that will like a bit of decent ground.
Wreckless Eric appears to have found a good spot for his handicap debut today at Huntingdon and he was strong in the betting too for the 15:55 from 2/13.00 into 13/82.63 and then 6/42.50 this morning on the Sportsbook.
He made his hurdling debut at Newbury in January and his greenness cost him in a steadily run race, but he shaped really well in that and made no mistake on his next start.
His jumping wasn't as impressive when he scored at Wetherby in soft conditions, making his own running and he appears to be learning more.
Making his own running could be a plus here and he does look a horse for further trips as both of his victories have been steadily run. A quicker pace on a sharper track against more experienced horses might help him out on that front, but he could have a lenient mark here for his handicap debut.
