Tips from Kevin Blake, Tony Calvin, Brendan Duke
-
Turners Novices Chase - 13:30
Tony Calvin - Balco Coastal Each Way (10/1)
I spoke to the jockey and I sense some real confidence behind the horse.
Kevin Blake - Appreciate It (4/1)
He's not got a whole lot of miles on the clock. Likeable jumping technique, should be suited to going up in trip. I think going up to 2.5 miles is just what he wants.
Brendan Duke - Mighty Potter (5/4)
He just wins. Most polished round of jumping came last time out which is as it should be. Not worried about last year as he came up against a freak.
Pertemps Network Final - 14:10
Kevin Blake - Shoot First (3/1)
Charles Byrnes could have a really big week. He has five entries and you could make a case for four of them. Shoot First was impressive at Cheltenham, and that form has worked out.
Brendan Duke - Walking on Air (7/1)
Has started favourite in four of five starts. They really rate this horse. He is going to love the tempo of the Pertemps. He swaggers through his races like he is a 150-rated horse.
Ryanair Chase - 14:50
Tony Calvin - Janidil (7/1)
I would take Shishkin out of the equation. Janidil was second in this race last year. I've had a wild stab at GA Law as well at 16/1, if he turns up.
Brendan Duke - I would probably bet Janidil if I had a bet. Very solid play in the betting without Shishkin market. A repeat of last year might be good enough to chase home Shishkin.
Paddy Power Stayers Hurdle - 15:30
Tony Calvin - Gold Tweet (12/1)
If Gold Tweet was trained by a Henderson or a Mullins he would be closer to 4s than 12s. Given age, unexposed nature, performance last time, the 12/1 seems wrong.

Kevin Blake - Teahupoo (7/2)
My marginal choice in a really tough race. Question mark about the ground, but I am inclined to take a chance. I think he has the right racing character.
Brendan Duke - Gold Tweet (12/1)
Gold Tweet is a very interesting horse. Looked like he pulled the jockey's arms out the whole race last time. That would be a concern. If she stays, you're getting a good price.
Plate Handicap Chase - 16:10
Tony Calvin - Datsalrightgino (12/1)
Back at Cheltenham where he ran last time. A very progressive horse.
Mares Novices Hurdle - 16:50
Tony Calvin - Ahorsewithnoname (16/1)
Second in race last year, a brilliant training performance from Nicky Henderson, as she bled quite badly on Boxing Day. I think you'll get bigger odds on the day.
