Matteo Manassero is a professional golf player who was born in Negar, Italy in 1993.

He became the youngest golfer to win on the European Tour in 2010 after his success at the Castello Masters Costa Azahar, the first of his four career titles to date.
As an amateur, he represented Continental Europe in the Jacques Leglise Trophy in 2007 and 2008. In 2009 he won the Amateur Championship when it was held at Formby Golf Club, by 4 & 3 ahead of Englishman Sam Husby. He was aged just 16 when he scored in the event held in Britain.
His victory in the amateur event helped him qualify for the 2009 Open Championship. He played in the major alongside Tom Watson and Sergio Garcia for the opening two rounds. After making it successfully past the cut, the Italian went on to finish in a tie for 13th, which was enough for him to earn the Silver Medal, handed to the leading amateur in the Championship.
At the end of 2009 he finished top of the World Amateur Golf Rankings where he remained for 18 weeks before turning professional.
His debut appearance at the Masters came in 2010. He became the youngest player to make the cut at the Augusta event, beating Bobby Cole's previous record from 1967. Mannassero's record of 16 years, 11 months and 22 days was beaten by China's Guan Tianlang in 2013 when he was only 14 years and 5 months old.
The Italian's professional debut came in the BMW Italian Open. He had to wait just five months for his maiden tournament success which came in the Castlello Masters Costa Azahar with a winning score of 268 (16). That was enough for a four strokes victory ahead of Spaniard Ignacio Garrido.
Mannassero's second win arrived in the Maybank Malaysian Open. On that occasion the margin was just one shot as he edged out Frenchman Gregory Bourdy.
His Singapore Open success on November 11, 2012 ensured that he became the only teenager in history to win three events on the European Tour. He had to do so following a playoff win against Louis Oosthuizen after the two players finished on -13 from their four rounds.
The biggest tournament victory of Mannassero's career so far was in the 2013 BMW PGA Championship where he beat both Simon Khan and Marc Warren in a playoff in a strong field at Wentworth Club.
