Kane odds-on to stay at Spurs as United plot bid

Kane is 4/6 to stay at Spurs and 6/5 to join United

Harry Kane is odds-on to stay at Tottenham this summer but Manchester United are as short as 6/5 as they weigh up a bid to tempt him to Old Trafford.

The England captain became his country's all-time leading goalscorer last week against Italy and followed up with another against Ukraine on Sunday.

Spurs are managerless, following the departure of Antonio Conte on Sunday, and will be under the caretaker management of Christian Stellini for the remainder of the 2022/23 season.

Who they appoint in the summer could have a significant bearing on whether Kane wants to leave.

Julian Nagelsman is the 13/8 favourite while Mauricio Pochettino is 7/2 to return to the club he managed from 2014-19.

Kane will turn 30 in July and, even though Glenn Hoddle said in his Betfair column last week that the England captain has three more years left in his prime, he may feel he will have to leave Spurs to win a trophy.

Then again, Kane may be attracted to staying at Spurs by the chance to work again with Pochettino under whose management he thrived previously.

United, meanwhile, are looking for an out and out striker to spearhead their attack and score the goals that would help them sustain a Premier League title challenge next season.

Beyond the Premier League, Bayern Munich are considered Kane's most likely destination but the German champions are 16/1.

PSG 25/1, meanwhile, are shorter than both Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona 33/1.
