Arsenal reached an agreement with Chelsea to Kai Havertz their first signing of the summer.

The German forward will join the Gunners for £65m if they agree personal terms.

The 24-year-old joined Chelsea from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 for around £71m and will be remembered for scoring the winning goal for the Blues in the 2021 Champions League final against Manchester City.

He has struggled for form since then, scoring nine goals in 47 club appearances last season.

Arteta strengthening after second-place finish

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is looking to strengthen his team after they finished second in the Premier League in 2022/24.

On the Betfair Exchange they are 8.88/1 to go one better next season.

A key part of his plan for next season is the recruitment of Declan Rice but, while Arsenal are 1/4 to sign the West Ham midfielder, they could face competition from both Manchester clubs.
