Tuesday Football Tips: It's Scot to be Alloa to win to nil

Euro 2020 hadn't even finished when the Scottish League Cup - now sponsored by Premier Sports - got under way at the weekend.

Matchday two takes place in midweek with the sponsors showing Hearts' home clash with Cove Rangers on Tuesday.

However, little catches the eye in that one so betting preference is head to the game at Alloa where the hosts, relegated from the Championship at the end of last season, face a Cowdenbeath side who finished second bottom in League Two, scoring just 15 goals in 22 games.

Despite Alloa's woes, that's still a big gap in class, especially when you consider the Wasps aren't messing around in terms of bouncing back.

They've appointed former Rangers and Blackburn star Barry Ferguson as boss in the close season and duly signed a clutch of new players, including one-time Premier League striker Conor Sammon and Adam King, who has Premiership experience and also spent time in England at Swansea.

They held Championship side Morton to a goalless draw in a friendly at the weekend but this will be their first competitive run-out.

Cowdenbeath, meanwhile, started their League Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat at home to Raith on Saturday when their attacking problems remained in evidence - they managed only three shots as their opponents dominated and could easily have won by more.

A revamped home side should be more than good enough to win this and given the Blue Brazil's long-standing goalscoring issues, backing them to do so to nil makes sound sense at 13/8.
