Stevenage v Barnsley
Tuesday 09 April, 19:45
We took a real punch to the guts in Spain last night, as Racing Santander completely dominated their game against struggling Alcorcon, ended up playing against nine men by the end, and yet still lost 1-0. A head-scratcher. We'll move on to England's League One now, because promotion-chasing Barnsley are visiting a Stevenage team that has seen its form fall off a cliff in recent months.
Barnsley are fifth in the table, and have only lost three of their last 13 league matches. Their recent 2-1 reverse at resurgent Charlton was their first defeat on the road since November, and brought to an end a run of four straight away victories. Just before Christmas the Tykes won the reverse fixture against Stevenage 2-1.
Stevenage have dropped six points off the playoff pace after a run of five draws and three defeats, and they haven't won in League One since late February. The goals have dried up at the Lamex Stadium, with just two scored across the last five home games. Top scorer Jamie Reid hasn't found the net in nearly two months.
Although Stevenage don't lose many at home, I'm happy to back Neill Collins' Barnsley Draw No Bet here at 2.1211/10. They have the better form, and the second-best away record in the whole division. If the game is drawn, then our stake will be returned.
