George Baldock: Set for a tough game

After landing another winner on Tuesday night, our football props column has a data-based play for Wednesday's huge Championship clash at Bramall Lane.

  • Back Baldock & Berge for fouls

  • Ahmedhodzic a big set-piece threat

  • 2/1 Bet Builder looks solid play

After Burnley secured the title on Tuesday, there's another huge game in the Championship on Wednesday night.

Sheffield United know victory will take them back into the Premier League after a two-season absence but West Brom will be desperate to stop them - they need a win to ensure that their target of reaching the play-offs remains in their own hands.

Blades looking sharp

Form points to the hosts. They've won five of their last six in the league whereas the Baggies have just two wins from seven, with a 2-1 home defeat to Sunderland on Sunday piling the pressure on.

Following the data served us well in Burnley's clash with Blackburn and I'm happy to do the same again here.

The case for a competitive game has already been made and so I'm happy to delve into the fouls market again with two Sheffield United players standing out.

George Baldock, likely to start of the right of the home defence even if that is as a wing-back, has committed a foul in six of his last eight starts and here looks likely to be tested by either Karlan Grant or Marc Albrighton, two players who are happy to run at defenders.

Back Berge

Team-mate Sander Berge has also been ticking off 1+ foul games with regularity of late - seven of his last nine have landed this bet.

In the midfield engine room, the Norwegian will be battling for control against two proper competitors in Okay Yokuşlu and Jayson Molumby and it's easy to see him being penalised at some stage.

Another notable aspect of the Blades under Paul Heckingbottom has been their ability from set-plays.

Only Millwall have scored more goals from such situations in this season's Championship, while they Blades sit fourth for shots taken from set-plays.

With this in mind, I'm more than happy to add 1+ shot for Anel Ahmedhodzic to our Bet Builder.

He's landed this in 14 of his last 16 games and has scored a healthy five times this season.

Put the three legs together and you get a price of 2/1.
