Netherlands v Ecuador
Friday 25 November, 16:00
Live on ITV
Although he didn't deliver a goal, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting did get the shot on target we needed in Cameroon's 1-0 defeat to Switzerland, so we're up and running for the week.
We'll switch our focus back to the Netherlands now, because the Oranje are looking to make it two wins from two as they face Ecuador.
Louis van Gaal's side weren't overly impressive in their 2-0 win over Senegal. They plodded their way through an uninspiring contest, but found late goals through Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen, both courtesy of mistakes from off-form Senegal and Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy. One change could be the return to the starting XI of talismanic forward Memphis Depay, who played as a sub against Senegal, and played his part in the second goal.
Ecuador also won their opener 2-0, as Enner Valencia's double downed the hosts Qatar. The South Americans were able to conserve energy in a dreadful second half, as their opponents failed to mount anything approaching a decent comeback. It's hard to judge Ecuador's level after a game against such limited opposition, but Gustavo Alfaro's side will be full of confidence.
Ecuador have been rock-solid defensively, keeping clean sheets in their last seven games. If you look at the South American qualifiers, they only conceded multiple goals in six of their 18 matches, and they leaked a total of just 19 goals.
A draw wouldn't do either of these sides any harm, and I like the look of backing Under 2.5 Goals here at 1.84/5. You could use the Sportsbook's Bet Builder to double up Under 2.5 Goals with a Memphis Depay shot on target at 2.1411/10 - Memphis has scored an impressive 42 goals in 82 caps.
