Naby Keita can have an impact for Liverpool at Old Trafford

Paul Higham is hoping to start the week in style with a 15/1 Bet Builder based around Naby Keita having a big say in Man Utd v Liverpool.

There's only really one game to focus on for Monday's best bet, and we're looking to extract some value from a player props Bet Builder for Man Utd v Liverpool.

Erik tan Hag has somehow managed to make things even worse than the shambles of last season at Old Trafford, but Jurgen Klopp's side have also bungled their way to two draws in their openers.

Given the well-documented on and off-field problems at United, Liverpool should really walk this, but with plenty of injuries and their troubled start it may not be the walk in the park we expect.

Indeed, if they concede the first goal again for the seventh league game in a row then tension could mount for the visitors.

Selection will be key for both sides. Anthony Martial is back in training but Ten Hag may not risk him from the start, so Cristiano Ronaldo could well get the chance for what could be one last big game at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is the favourite among Man Utd players to score, but if he does start you may be better siding with him in the 'to score or to be shown a card' market even at 5/6.

He really should've been sent off in this fixture last season, and also had a goal ruled out for offside and he's likely to be involved in some way if he plays.

Compatriot Bruno Fernandes is a more certain starter but a bigger price as an 11/10 OddsBoost in the 'to score or to be shown a card' market - a bet which has paid off in four of his five games against Liverpool, and all three at Old Trafford.

We all know about Mo Salah's outstanding scoring run against United, and while we'll all be backing him to score his 10th goal against Liverpool's big rivals, what about the 13/8 on United's new left-back Tyrell Malacia to see a card.

He's been decent in his limited time so far this season, but if Ten Hag does throw him in to replace Luke Shaw, then he looks ripe to get booked given the assignment he'll be facing.

With Darwin Nunez suspended, Roberto Firmino will start up front and that's no bad thing for Liverpool if he's up to speed - as he's had two goals and two assists from his last three visits to Old Trafford in all competitions.

Unsurprisingly then, Firmino is 10/11 for a goal or assist but is a nice component for your Bet Builders if you fancy the visitors to notch a few goals again.

Our wildcard here though, and the basis of our Bet Builder is Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita - who is said to be unhappy at his lack of action recently and could leave next summer on a free.

Keita's got undoubted quality but a long list of injury problems have limited him to just 46 league starts in four seasons at Anfield.

One of those starts was at Old Trafford last season when he had a goal and assist and proved far too good for United to handle with his relentless pressing and well-timed runs into the box from deep.

Klopp loves him, and he could well get the start ahead of Harvey Elliott, so I'm happy to take the 2/1 on him for a goal or assist this time around.

So with a Bet Builder not including many of the big names, we'll back Keita and Firmino to have a big say for Liverpool, with Fernandes to make it three league games against the Reds in a row with a booking.
