Cambridge Utd v Curzon Ashton
Tuesday 19:45
In the Netherlands last night, Maastricht went down 3-0 at Jong Utrecht and our bet sank with them.
We're on home turf today for one of tonight's five first round replays in the FA Cup. League One Cambridge went to National League North outfit Curzon nine days ago and were held to a goalless draw. Another low-scorer is an odds-against shot today and it's a punt we're ready to take.
Mark Bonner's Cambridge followed up their first game against these opponents with another goalless draw at the weekend. In the last month, 6/7 of United's matches across all competitions have finished with Under 2.5 Goals, with United themselves failing to score at all in 5/7. They start this match as big favourites for obvious reasons, but you couldn't describe them as prolific.
Curzon are three tiers below their hosts, but have held their own against them once and shouldn't be fazed by a second meeting. Across all competitions, Adam Lakeland's men have recently served up three goalless draws in five matches. Going back to mid-October, 6/7 have finished with Under 2.5 Goals and the Nash have notched five clean sheets. Cambridge are a step up, of course, but there's half a chance the Nash have the defensive chops to make life difficult. We'll back the underdog and take Under 2.5 Goals at around 2.26/5.
