If anything, Eintracht Frankfurt over-delivered for us last night. as they crushed RB Leipzig 4-0. We only needed them to avoid defeat, but they wiped the floor with last season's DFB Pokal winners.
We'll keep going in Germany with a game between two in-form sides. Borussia Mönchengladbach are up against Mainz, and I'm backing Foals forward Marcus Thuram to make an impact.
Thuram has had previous problems with injury, and he was heavily linked with a move away from the club, but the Frenchman seems revitalised under new BMG boss Daniel Farke. He scored the opener in last weekend's heroic draw at Bayern Munich, a game that saw goalkeeper Yann Sommer pull off a Bundesliga record 19 saves. Thuram now has three goals and an assist in the Bundesliga this term, so he's been involved in four goals in four games.
Gladbach have scored seven goals across their four games, and they smashed nine past Oberachern in the cup, with Thuram netting a hat-trick within the first 36 minutes. Although Mainz have made a decent start to the league season themselves, they were swept aside 3-0 by Bayer Leverkusen last weekend, and on the road they haven't managed a Bundesliga clean sheet in nearly a year. Across the last 20 Bundesliga away games, Mainz have leaked 38 goals.
We can use the Sportsbook's OddsBoost to back Thuram to either score or assist at 2.757/4 here, and I think that's a very attractive price.
