Robin Le Normand: Carded in nine of 20 league games this season

Two badly-behaved sides and a strict referee make cards appeal in Saturday lunchtime's La Liga game between Sevilla and Real Sociedad, says Andy Schooler.

Two ill-disciplined teams and a high-carding referee is regarded as pretty much the perfect storm for cards punters and that's what we've got in La Liga on Saturday lunchtime.

Sevilla and Real Sociedad both sit in the top six in terms of cards received in the Spanish top flight this season and the duo very much have things to play for here - Sevilla remain too close to the relegation zone for comfort, while seventh-placed Real are chasing European football.

Leg 1: Red card in the match

Meanwhile, the man with the whistle, Mateo Busquets Ferrer, is averaging 5.85 yellows per game - the second-highest such figure in the La Liga. He's also shown six reds in his 13 matches - his average of 0.46 reds per game is a league high.

Throw in the fact that Sevilla have already received four red cards - only two sides have had more - and 11/53.20 about a dismissal in this contest looks a decent price.

Leg 2: Robin Le Normand to be shown a card

As for the player-card market, there are understandably some short prices around but one which looks more than fair is the 15/82.88 about Robin Le Normand finding his way into the notebook.

The Real centre-back has been carded in nine of his 20 La Liga starts this season and has another four in the cup competitions.

Here, he'll go up against Isaac Romero, a player who has been a rare bright spark for Sevilla of late, the forward having been promoted up from the reserve team and taken his chance with five goals in nine games for the first XI so far.

Le Normand's odds defy his season record. Consider the referee, too, and he's worth backing.

The Bet Builder double pays just over 13/27.50.

Given the original point about the teams and the referee, over 5.5 cards is another option.

It's certainly a good-looking single at 4/51.80, although it doesn't add a great deal more to our Bet Builder so we'll keep that a two-legged selection.
