PSG face Marseille in Le Classique
-
-
After a slightly dodgy start for PSG by their standards, Luis Enrique may just be getting to grips with things after a midweek Champions League victory he said was near perfect.
Marseille are next up in 'Le Classique' - one of the biggest games in French football - but they arrive with an interim manager after Marcelino's shock resignation.
L'OM are unbeaten this season after all and go into the game a point above PSG in fourth, but rumblings among their fans prompted their manager to pack his bags.
And PSG have dominated this contest with just one defeat in 23 league meetings with Marseille - winning 17 and drawing four - and will hope that beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 during the week can spark more domestic dominance.
The visitors have the joint-best defence in the league this season, conceding just four goals, while PSG have dominated every opponent with the ball in true Enrique style and after a slow start have started converting possession into goals.
And Kylian Mbappe has been front and centre as usual, with goals in 14 of his last 16 games for club and country, he's bordering on the unstoppable.
Marseille's defence is good, but as PSG get into the groove it's hard to see him not scoring here, so we'll back his customary goal even at 8/111.73 which is short enough.
Moroccan full-back Achraf Hakimi will be more like a winger in this game with Marseille no doubt pushed back for the majrity, and he's never scared of having a pop at goal.
Hakimi has had a goal and an assist across his last two games, but he's also been having efforts on goal regularly.
In fact, only Mbappe has had more shots at goal for PSG this season, with Hakimi firing in 16 efforts at goal - but his accuracy needs a bit more work with four hitting the target.
He's had a shot on target in his last three PSG games though, and three of four, so we'll back Hakimi for 1+ shot on target here at what I think's a nice price at 11/102.11.
Faced with PSG having so much of the ball, and with this being French football's big game, there should be a few fouls about, and the best price for a player to have just one is the Evens on Chancel Mbemba for 1+ foul.
Playing in defence against Mbappe is always tough, but throw in Dembele and new signing Kolo Muani with their pace and dribbling and you're up against it.
Mbemba is not particularly a dirty defender, but he's still given away four fouls in five league games this season - being pulled up for fouls in three games.
With those stats and against this opposition then backing him at 1/12.00 looks like a bit of a steal and a nice way to bump-up our treble.
