Everton v Chelsea: Back sticky Toffee good 'un at 11/2

It's been quite a week for Everton.

Back-to-back league wins for the first time in over a year have lifted them out of the relegation zone, Nottingham Forest and Newcastle both beaten without conceding.

It's now eight wins in 12 games in all competitions for the Toffees and I'm not at all convinced that the layers have got it right pricing them up at 2/13.00 against a remarkably inconsistent Chelsea, who have lost their last two away matches at Newcastle (heavily) and Manchester United. In addition, the Londoners have lost four of their last five at Goodison Park.

I'm not really here to suggest the outcome of the actual match - this is a props column after all - but hopefully that give you some idea of how I'm approaching this one.

Leg 1: Idrissa Gueye 1+ shot

In terms of those player markets, I certainly think Everton will look to play on the front foot with the fans firmly on side given both recent form and the perceived injustice of their recent points deduction.

I'll therefore kick off the Bet Builder by backing Idrissa Gueye for 1+ shot.

The Senegalese has been popped up on the edge of the box more often of late and he's managed eight shots in his last three games.

Over a longer period, Gueye has landed this bet in seven of his last eight appearances in which he's played more than 18 minutes.

Leg 2: James Tarkowski 1+ shot

I'm also keen on James Tarkowski in the same market, one he's delivered in across six of his last seven games.

He's Everton's go-to man at set pieces and there's every reason he can find some success in this match.

The Toffees boast the best set-piece expected-goals figure in the Premier League and here they face a team who have struggled to defend such situations - only six sides have conceded more shots from set pieces than Chelsea.

Leg 3: Conor Gallagher 2+ fouls

I also expect this to be a highly competitive game featuring plenty of fouls.
These two sides sit joint third in the league's fouls-committed list and so it could well pay to delve into that market too.

Conor Gallagher leads the league for fouls and has made at least three in seven of his last nine games.

There's no 3+ fouls market available but backing him for 2+ looks a very solid selection.

Leg 4: Vitalii Mykolenko 1+ foul

On the other side of the ball, Vitalii Mykolenko gets the nod.

The Everton left-back has landed the 1+ foul bet in eight of his last nine and here may well be facing the double threat of Raheem Sterling and Reece James down his side of the field.

Leg 5: Jack Harrison 1+ foul

To complete a Bet Builder which pays around 11/26.50, Jack Harrison is also added for 1+ foul.

The on-loan Leeds man has become a key player for Sean Dyche on the right-hand side in terms of getting forward and delivering crosses.

He's expected to do his tracking back though and that's reflected in the fact he's committed a foul in six of his last seven games.
