Bayern have won 12 in a row
Bayern Munich (W) v Arsenal (W)
Tuesday 21 March, 17:45
Dynamo Dresden did us proud last night, as their 3-2 win at Ingosladt landed our Bet Builder at evens with room to spare. We'll switch our focus to the Women's Champions League now - Arsenal make the trip to Bavaria to take on Bayern Munich, and I think the hosts are fair favourites at just above evens.
It's worth bearing in mind that Bayern aren't as dominant in the Frauen Bundesliga as they are in the men's game. They have only won one of the last six titles, with Wolfsburg winning the rest. However, they are in the mix for the title this term, with Wolfsburg only two points clear of them at the top. They are also in super form, having won their last 12 competitive games, scoring at least twice in all of those victories.
Bayern finished second in their Champions League group, but they did beat group winners Barcelona 3-1 along the way. They are currently on a run of five straight clean sheets in all competitions, and they have a squad stacked with talent. German international striker Lea Schüller is scoring freely, while Euro-winning England midfielder Georgia Stanway has come in to complement the likes of Klara Bühl, Sarah Zadrazil and Lina Magull. German internationals Giulia Gwinn and Linda Dallmann are out injured.
Arsenal are without two of their best attacking players in Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema because of serious injury, and Jonas Eidevall's side is five points behind leaders Chelsea in a fascinating title race. In the group stage, Arsenal won four of their six games, including a truly remarkable 5-1 victory at French giants Lyon.
Without Mead and Miedema, Arsenal have lost their last two away games against strong opposition, going down 2-1 at Manchester City in the league and 2-0 at Chelsea in the FA Cup. They are also without the influential Steph Catley. Bayern will be boosted by turning out at the Allianz Arena, and last time they were there they beat Barcelona.
I fancy the hosts to claim a first-leg win on the Exchange at 2.0811/10.
