It was all going so well for us in Turkey last night, with our boys Besiktas leading 1-0 against Alanyaspor. Cue the collapse, as the visitors roared back to win 3-1 and leave us in the mud. We'll respond by making a rare trip to the Ivory Coast. ASEC Mimosas are in action against Zoman FC, and I think the visitors can cause an upset.
ASEC Mimosas are the Ivorian champions, and they have recently been distracted by their efforts in the CAF Champions League. A punishing schedule has taken its toll, and ASEC are only sixth in the Ivorian top flight, albeit with some games in hand. They have won just one of their last five league matches, and they have failed to score in three of those games.
Zoman have lost just two of their 14 games in the top flight this term, a very impressive record for a newly-promoted side. They have only suffered one defeat on their travels, and they are just four points adrift of top spot. Only the leaders Racing d'Abidjan have a better defensive record, while Zoman having leaked just eight goals.
ASEC are trading at 1.511/2 to win this, and that seems a touch too short given their recent form in the league. Zoman are on a roll, they are defensively sound, and well capable of snatching a draw here. I'll lay the hosts.
