Former Reds boss Jurgen Klopp 2/13.00 for sensational return
Klopp favourite to return to Anfield should Slot leave
Jurgen Klopp is the 2/13.00 favourite to become the Next Permanent Liverpool Manager after the Betfair Sportsbook introduced the market following Liverpool's sixth Premier League defeat in seven games.
Arne Slot remains the manager at Anfield, and there is no suggestion that he is under pressure to keep his job, but if Liverpool's results don't improve soon then the Dutchman will surely have a fight on to remain in the hotseat.
Reigning Premier League champions Liverpool suffered a shock 0-3 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday and as a result they dropped to 11th in the table and are out to 22/123.00 to defend their crown.
It is the first time Slot's men have failed to score at Anfield in the Premier League since they lost 0-1 at home to Forest in the first few weeks of last season's title-winning campaign.
Klopp remains a firm favourite among Liverpool fans and should the Reds hierarchy decide to end Slot's tenure then the German will be high on the club's shortlist to replace him. The 58-year-old is currently the Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull.
When will Liverpool turn the corner?
On paper, Liverpool look to have a glorious chance to turn their league form around in the coming weeks with struggling West Ham up next before games against newly-promoted clubs Sunderland and Leeds.
But nothing looks easy for Slot currently with his star man Mo Salah playing nowhere near the levels he did last season, and £100m+ summer signings Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak yet to make an impact.
Liverpool have opened up as 8/131.61 favourites to take all three points from the London Stadium next week with West Ham priced at 15/44.75 and the Draw at 16/54.20. It already feels like a must-win game for the Reds' current manager.
Liverpool's last seven Premier League results:
- Crystal Palace 2-1 Liverpool
- Chelsea 2-1 Liverpool
- Liverpool 1-2 Man United
- Brentford 3-2 Liverpool
- Liverpool 2-0 Aston Villa
- Man City 3-0 Liverpool
- Liverpool 0-3 Nottm Forest
