Will Liam Rosenior still be Chelsea boss at the start of next season?

After losing a fifth Premier League game in a row Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior is under increasing pressure to save his job, and the Betfair Sportsbook is hinting that he won't be in charge at the start of next season...

Rosenior 2/13.00 to be Chelsea's manager next season

Liam Rosenior is unlikely to be Chelsea's manager at the start of next season according to the Betfair Sportsbook, following Tuesday's damaging 3-0 defeat at Brighton.

The 41-year-old - who was only appointed as the Blues boss in January - can be backed at 2/13.00 to be in charge at Stamford Bridge at the start of next season, which in the betting industry means that he's more likely not to be Chelsea's boss for the start of the new campaign.

Following the defeat at the Amex - which was Chelsea's fifth Premier League defeat in a row - a furious Rosenior blasted his side's performance as "indefensible" and "unacceptable" as he went on to say, "It was unacceptable in every aspect of the game, unacceptable in our attitude.

"I keep coming out and defending the players - that's indefensible, that performance tonight."

Champions League football all but gone

Tuesday night's defeat at Brighton saw Chelsea drop to seventh in the table, seven points behind Liverpool in fifth having played one game more.

It means that even if Rosenior's men were to win their last four games, Liverpool would require just five points from their remaining five games to prevent Chelsea from qualifying for next season's Champions League.

As well as losing five Premier League games on the spin, all without scoring, the club also lost both home and away to PSG in the Champions League quarter finals, meaning they've lost seven of their last eight games with their only win being a victory over League One side Port Vale in the FA Cup.

It's an alarming dip in form that has resulted in some fans calling for Rosenior to be sacked following Tuesday night's defeat.

And should the poor form continue it's possible that Chelsea could finish outside of the European qualifying positions all together, meaning winning the FA Cup would be their only route into Europe next season.

The Blues face Leeds in Sunday's semi-final and should they win that then they will play either Manchester City or Southampton in the final. Rosenior's men can be backed at 11/43.75 to win the FA Cup.

Big names in line for Chelsea job

Should Chelsea decide to part ways with Rosenior then a host of big names are in the market to be the club's manager at the start of next season.

Both Oliver Glasner and Andoni Iraola have announced they will be leaving their current jobs at the end of this season, and they can be backed at 9/25.50 and 10/111.00 respectively to start next season at Stamford Bridge.

Flamengo boss Felipe Luis is seen as the most likely man to take over from Rosenior for next season, and he's available to back at 5/23.50, while former Chelsea favourite and ex manager Frank Lampard is in the market at 11/112.00.
