The story of 150/1151.00 Ollie and 500/1501.00 Palace
Betfair punters up and down the country will be on the edge of their seats this weekend as they cheer on the teams that could potentially win them big sums of money on season-long bets.
However, one punter's dream could be shattered this evening should Norwich fail to get past Leeds in tonight's Championship play-off semi-final second leg.
The ambitious bettor placed a £45 treble on Norwich, Oxford (League One) and Crawley (League Two) all to be promoted, and should the bet be successful the punter will win the very nice sum of £9,434.43.
With Oxford and Crawley already through to their respective play-off finals this weekend, the Canaries also making it to Wembley to play either West Brom or Southampton would give our punter a few nervy days ahead.
Crawley winning the League Two play-off final on Saturday will also land a tidy £1,706.25 to one Betfair customer who, back in August, placed a £10 treble on them to be promoted along with already-promoted Ipswich and Portsmouth.
Man City set to land a few nice bets
Reigning Premier League champions Manchester City are 1/141.07 on the Betfair Sportsbook to retain their title on Sunday, and should they do so it will be to the delight of two punters who stand to win almost £6k and £4k respectively.
Both the punters placed season-long four-folds on Man City to win the Premier League, Leicester to win the Championship, Portsmouth to win League One and Stockport to win League Two.
And with three of the legs already successful, a win for Pep Guardiola's men at home to West Ham on Sunday - or Arsenal failing to beat Everton - will mean a great final day of the season for our two customers.
European finals could win punter over £3.5k
Away from the domestic action, one lucky Betfair customer (or should that be skilled Betfair customer?) is set to win £3,533.06 should Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen win their European finals.
The punter placed a £25 acca back in October on Aston Villa to record a top four finish, Inter Milan to win Serie A, Real Madrid to win the Champions League and Bayer Leverkusen to win the Europa League.
And with Madrid now 3/101.30 to win their final, and Leverkusen 2/51.40 to win the Europa League, our punter has an excellent chance of celebrating in the coming weeks.
No takers for 150/1 Watkins
Clever bets that Betfair have already paid out on include Aston Villa at 10/111.00 to finish in the top four and Manchester United at 10/34.33 to finish outside of the top six.
However, quite remarkably Betfair didn't take a single bet on Ollie Watkins recording the most Premier League assists this season. Though at 150/1151.00 at the start of the season, should we be all that surprised?
Watkins has 13 assists to his name, three more than any other player in the Premier League, so he's almost certainly going to top the charts.
But spare a thought for all those who backed Kevin de Bruyne before the season started. The Belgian was a very well-backed favourite but picked up an early injury meaning he was on the sidelines for five months.
Since his return to action, however, the brilliant Man City midfielder has 10 assists to his name from just 14 Premier League starts. If he'd have been available for most of the season he would surely have won this market in a canter.
Can 500/1 Palace finish top 10?
Other bets that could land this weekend include both Bournemouth and Crystal Palace to finish in the top 10.
The Cherries were backed at a high of 30/131.00 in October, but one brave Betfair customer backed Palace at 500/1501.00 just last month.
The Eagles are on a brilliant run of form, but they still need to beat Aston Villa on Sunday and hope that other results go their way to land the huge odds.
