Werder Bremen 1 Leipzig 1 in Germany yesterday. Not enough goals for our man Kev but, like an ageing referee, he's squeezed himself into the black for another week. Props to him and a turboprop to us as we make a flying visit to Portugal.

Rio Ave are vying to be the Primeira Liga's best of the rest. Fifteen points behind the runaway top four, the Big River's game with Tondela is an opportunity to jump two points clear of Maritimo in the race for fifth.

We're backing them to make the leap. Rio are a handy W9-D2-L3 on home turf this season and, against teams now in the bottom half, that record hardens to W7-D1-L0.

Twelfth-placed Tondela have failed to score in half of their 14 away games this term. Travelling to clubs now in the top half of the table, the Gold and Greens are W1-D2-L4. They lost the reverse fixture 3-1 - the same score by which they lost this fixture a year ago - and we fancy them to cough up the three points again this evening.
