2016 has started with a couple of bangs. First QPR and Hull played out the goalless first half we really hoped they would. Then, early this morning, Melbourne City and Sydney FC delivered a 2-2 draw that paid out our goals bet.

Today we move to Portugal, where Sergio Conceicao's Guimaraes entertain Rui Vitoria's Benfica in one of tonight's televised Primeira Liga games.

Conceicao wasn't overly concerned with defence as a player and has taken a similar approach into his coaching career. At their Estadio D. Afonso Henriques home, Guimaraes are yet to keep a clean sheet in five attempts under the old winger. Thank goodness they've scored three times in each of their most recent two appearances there.

Benfica were surprisingly held to a goalless on Madeira in their last away match but, prior to that, the Eagles had struck 10 times in winning three previous road games. The visitors won this fixture 3-0 last season and we fancy them to drag this game over the goals line too.
