Rennes stretched their unbeaten home streak to 11 games in France last night, but they had to settle for a 1-1 draw with Marseille. Kev too had to settle for a draw, as his Draw No Bet stake was returned. Today, at least, Kev is settling into something much comfier - a week off.

As he puts his feet up, we launch into the new week from Spain. The final La Liga match of round 25 pits 15th-placed Girona at home to some recent friends of the column, Real Sociedad. The weekend before last, we backed Sociedad for a home win. They came up strong for us, beating Leganes 3-0, and we're excited to see them start as outsiders for tonight's game.

Up to eighth in the table, Sociedad are now unbeaten in seven Liga games since Imanol Alguacil took charge. On the road, they have beaten Real Madrid 2-0 at the Bernabeu and drawn two other matches. With those draws in mind (and, as you'll see, there are a few on Girona's side too) we want to cover the stalemate with today's bet. Backing Sociedad 0 & +0.5 on the Asian Handicap means we'll win if they win and, if the match is drawn, we will win on half our stake (the half that gave Sociedad that 0.5-goal headstart) and the other half will be returned.

Girona boss Eusebio Sacristan has a point to prove this evening. He replaced David Moyes as Sociedad boss, before getting sacked himself just under a year ago. His current team are not in particularly good nick, however. They beat Real Madrid 2-1 in the Spanish capital last time out, but that was their first win in 13 matches across all competitions.

At their own Estadi Municipal de Montilivi, Girona are six Liga games without a win and W2-D5-L5 since the start of the season. Those two wins came against sides now below them in the table (17th-placed Celta Vigo and 19th-placed Rayo Vallecano). Hosting teams now above them in the table, they are W0-D4-L4. Our bet on Sociedad would have been a winner (or half a winner) in all eight of those games and that's why we're getting behind the visitors this evening.
