Same Game Multi Tips: Best bets for Premier League GW26

Thomas Tuchel
Thomas Tuchel has Chelsea ticking

"It’s not a surprise to see West Brom rooted to the bottom of Infogol’s expected league table based on expected points. The Baggies have been truly awful all season, recording abysmal underlying numbers (0.9 xGF and 1.9 xGA pg) since returning to the Premier League."

Steven Railston from the Sporting Life and Mark O'Haire share their same game multi picks for this weekend's Premier League action...

Neal Maupay can lead Brighton to win at the Hawthorns

West Brom v Brighton
Saturday, 15:00

Same Game Multi: Brighton to win, over 2.5 goals and Neal Maupay to score anytime @ 5.11411/100

Steven Railston says: It's not a surprise to see West Brom rooted to the bottom of Infogol's expected league table based on expected points (xP). The Baggies have been truly awful all season, recording abysmal underlying numbers (0.9 xGF and 1.9 xGA pg) since returning to the Premier League.

Brighton will surely view this game as the perfect opportunity to bounce back from their shocking Crystal Palace defeat (xG: BRI 3.0 - 0.3 CRY). The Seagulls dominated proceedings on that occasion, but they were once again incredibly wasteful. They've won just 10 points from 13 home games this term. Based on expected goals (xG), Infogol calculates a 0.03% chance they would achieve 10 or fewer points from such fixtures.

Fortunately for Brighton, they're playing away here at the Hawthorns. Graham Potter's side have created an average of 1.1 xGF per game when on the road this term, and while that's poor attacking output, it's worth remembering they're up against the league's worst defence according to expected goals. They should therefore be able to fashion plenty opportunities, and Neal Maupay can capitalise on this service, finding the back of the net.

Wolves can prevail against the Magpies

Newcastle v Wolves
Saturday, 20:00

Same Game Multi: Wolves to win, under 2.5 goals and Joseph Willock 1 shot on target @ 13.74637/50

Steven Railston says: Since Christmas, no team in the Premier League has won fewer points than Newcastle United. Steve Bruce has undoubtedly taken the club backwards, and his failures to compete tactically in England's top-flight have been ruthlessly exposed. The Black and Whites have created an abysmal average of 1.0 xGF per game across their last 10 fixtures.

Newcastle have also been rocked by an injury to Callum Wilson, who accounts for 40% of the club's goal haul this campaign, having scored 10 goals from 11.38 xG - who's going to fire Newcastle to safety in his absence? Joe Willock has averaged 1.4 shots since arriving on loan from Arsenal in January. The 21-year-old's box-to-box nature will be an asset, but it highlights Newcastle's problems that they're relying on the youngster to breath a new lease of life into their squad.

It's not exactly been a vintage season for Wolves, either, but they've shown recent signs of revival, beating Southampton and Leeds (xG: WOL 0.9 - 2.7 LEE). That result against Leeds was extremely fortunate, but they're now unbeaten across their last four league games. They've conceded just twice in those fixtures and, considering the hosts' attacking struggles, they can excel defensively at St. James' Park.

Underwhelming game at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea v Man United
Sunday, 16:30

Same Game Multi: Under 2.5 goals and Harry Maguire 1+ Total Shots @ 2.81181/100

Mark O'Haire says: Thomas Tuchel has overseen an eight-game unbeaten streak across all competitions since arriving at Chelsea, with the Blues conceding just two goals under the German's tutelage. Chelsea are seemingly content to adopt a pragmatic approach under Tuchel with, interestingly, seven of the first eight games of his tenure delivering Under 2.5 Goals profit.

Manchester United have already shared goalless draws with Chelsea and Man City at Old Trafford, while also drawing with Liverpool and Arsenal this season. Their midfield duo of Fred and Scott McTominay protected their back four in all those stalemates. I'm therefore happy to side with history repeating itself here, although Harry Maguire has caught my eye.

A major threat from set-pieces, United's captain has had an attempt on goal in five of seven games against Big Six opposition and Leicester this season, including in the reverse at Old Trafford. The defender is averaging 1.20 shots per-game in the Premier League and backing him to have a shot makes appeal.
