Goals galore in Sweden
IFK Malmo v Torns
Thursday 08 July, 18:00
It was all going so well for us in Brazil as RB Bragantino were heading for a 1-0 win over Cuiaba that would've secured us a winner. Then the winless visitors equalised with one of only two shots on target they had all night. We'll send back those energy drinks we ordered.
We'll zoom back to Europe now, and head to Malmo. We're not interested in the glitz and glamour attached to the top-level team from Malmo. Instead, we're taking in a game with second-tier IFK Malmo, who are facing struggling Torns.
Torns have built up one of the most extraordinary records I've seen at this stage of a campaign. They have played 14 games in Sweden's Division 1, and those games have featured a mind-boggling 58 goals already at an average of more than four per match. They have leaked 38 goals, and nine of their 14 league matches have seen an Over 3.5 Goals bet land. Their last two away games saw them lose 5-1 at Utsikten and 7-1 at Lund.
IFK are a lot more circumspect, with 17 goals scored and 17 conceded, but they are seventh in the table, which isn't bad for a side that was promoted from the third division last term. They were in Division 4 as recently as 2013, and they haven't played top-flight football since 1962.
IFK have seen an Over 3.5 Goals bet land in four of their last seven outings in league and cup, and against such chaotic opposition, I'm happy to back that outcome again.
