Saturday night is filled with matches from the MLS, and Paul Robinson has picked out three bets for his Daily Acca. Here are his selections:
New York RB's to extend their great home record
Bet 1: Back New York Red Bulls @ 4/6 - KO 00:30 BST (Sun)
We begin in the Empire State for New York Red Bulls' fixture against Columbus Crew, and despite the visitors having improved of late, I can't see anything other than a win for the Metros.
Chris Armas' side beat Orlando in Florida when they were last in action and in their last home game they won the Hudson River Derby by a 2-1 margin.
The hosts have been in great form in front of their own fans, as they have taken 13 points from a possible 15, including a victory over reigning MLS champions, Atlanta United.
As previously mentioned, Columbus Crew, have had some better results lately - a 2-2 draw at Chicago Fire and a 2-1 home win over Montreal Impact. That being said, they had lost eight and drawn one of their nine outings prior to that, and on the road it's one point from a possible 27 since a 2-0 win at New England, all the way back in March.
Attackers to shine in Montreal
Bet 2: Back Over 2.5 Goals in Montreal Impact v Philadelphia @ 8/11 - KO 01:00 BST (Sun)
Goals in Canada now as I'm expecting three or more at the Saputo Stadium, where Montreal Impact entertain Philadelphia Union.
The U are currently top of the Eastern Conference, but with 32 goals against, the four teams immediately below them, all have a better defensive record.
A total of 41 scored at the right end though, has helped them pick up plenty of wins this season, and it's also meant that their games have averaged 3.17 goals each time - with 13 of their 23 seeing this selection land (five of which have come from their last six away from Philly).
Montreal are sixth in the same Conference, and they have conceded a total of 38. They fired a blank in their most recent home match, but prior to that they had netted twice against each of Seattle, Portland and Minnesota, and five of their last six here have seen Over 2.5 backers collect.
The Timbers to make it three home wins
Bet 3: Back Portland Timbers @ 8/13 - KO 03:30 BST (Sun)
Our third and final selection comes from the state of Oregon, and although LA Galaxy travel north on the back of a fantastic win over their city rivals, I am very keen on the home side taking the three points here.
I have written about Portland Timbers before, but it is worth reiterating that their position of ninth in the Western Conference is a false one.
Firstly, Giovanni Savarese's men have at least one game in hand over all of the other teams in the division - and they are only two points off the Play-off places. Also, of their 20 fixtures to date, 15 of them have been away from home, whilst Providence Park was being renovated.
Admittedly, their record at home hasn't been overly fantastic this term - one defeat, two wins and two draws - but they are currently five unbeaten overall, and are one of the best teams in the MLS.
The Galaxy were beaten 3-0 on their last away trip, and that was their fourth away defeat of the campaign. They can be great when they want to be - the Zlatan effect, if you will - but they are quite inconsistent, and I prefer to back against them usually.
