The Daily Acca: City to drop points ahead of big Champions League clash

Everton manager Sam Allardyce
Sam Allardyce thrives on pitting his wits against the big clubs

Saturday's edition of the Daily Acca sees Paul Robinson take in fixtures from the Premier League, Championship and Serie A. Here are his selections:

- Back The Draw in Everton v Man City @ 9/2
- Back BTTS in Hull v Aston Villa @ 5/6
- Back Juventus @ 8/13

The Acca pays approximately 15/1

City to come unstuck at Toffees

Bet 1: Back The Draw in Everton v Man City @ 9/2 - KO 17:30 BST

It's fair to say that Man City have the Premier League title wrapped up, and their sights will now be set on Champions League glory. They face Liverpool in the first leg of their quarter-final on Wednesday and with some of their focus bound to be on that game, I think Everton can take advantage here and earn a draw.

The Tofffees have been getting decent results at Goodison Park under Sam Allardyce and they come into the match having won three on the bounce in front of their own fans. They have lost just one of their previous 10 at home, and they recorded seven victories during that period.

Obviously given their position in the table, Man City have a pretty formidable record both home and away this term, but they dropped points Burnley in February and another draw today wouldn't be the worst result in the world for them.

More goals at Hull

Bet 2: Back BTTS in Hull v Aston Villa @ 5/6 - KO 17:30 BST

Into the Championship now as Aston Villa need to return to form following a couple of defeats. It won't be easy for them at Hull though, and I have a strong feeling that there will be goals at both ends when they meet this evening.

Back to back losses for Steve Bruce's side have all but ended their automatic promotion hopes. They trail Cardiff by 10 points, and Fulham have now moved three points clear of them into third courtesy of their victory yesterday.

Hull are scrapping for survival at the wrong end of the division but a couple of wins over Norwich and Ipswich have helped their cause no end. They did shoot themselves in the foot a bit last time out by losing to Birmingham, but they are at least six points clear of the relegation zone.

As far as the goals go, this selection would have landed in the host's last three on this ground and while only one of Villa's last three followed suit, their defending has looked sloppy of late, and they need to go for the win at all costs.

Old Lady to edge out Milan

Bet 3: Back Juventus @ 8/13 - KO 19:45 BST

A disappointing draw for Juventus at SPAL last time out has let Napoli back into the Serie A title race and with just nine games to go, Juve's lead is down to two points.

The Old Lady simply can't afford to drop any more cheap points and although they are taking on AC Milan this evening, this isn't the Milan of old. Admittedly they have improved under Gennaro Gattuso, but they still lost two fixtures against Arsenal in March, and Juve are well out of the Gunners' league.

Massimiliano Allegri's men have won 12 of their 14 home games in the league this year and they rarely drop points in Turin, let alone lose. The visitor's have a more than respectable away record this season - seven wins from 15 - but this is the hardest assignment possible, and Juve have won the last two meetings between the pair on this ground.
