Marseille v Rennes - Crisis club to implode again
Sunday May 17, 20:00
Live on Ligue 1 Pass
What a dismal season it has been for Marseille. A dressing room dust-up between Adrien Rabiot and Jonathan Rowe set the tone - both players were quickly sold - and things spiralled from there. The failure to qualify for the knockout phase of the Champions League from a strong position ultimately saw coach Roberto De Zerbi leave, and l'OM's controversial president Pablo Longoria wasn't far behind him.
Despite a strong goalscoring effort this season, forward Mason Greenwood has been regularly criticised for his attitude and body language by reporters and fans, and De Zerbi's replacement Habib Beye has carried the air of an embattled supply teacher. A good example of the players' lack of discipline was when the squad was confined to the training ground overnight as a punishment, and veteran striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang decided it would be a good idea to start messing around with a fire extinguisher.
A run of two league wins in seven has wrecked Marseille's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League, and they'll wrap up their campaign against a Rennes side that has reeled off five wins in six to reignite hopes of qualifying for Europe. On the road, SRFC have won four of the last five.
We can back Rennes +0.5 on the Asian Handicap at 1.8810/11, which means we make money if the visitors avoid defeat against their old coach Habib Beye.

Genoa v Milan - De Rossi to ride to Roma's rescue
Sunday 17 May, 11:30
Live on DAZN
Milan were part of the race for the Scudetto until a few weeks ago, but while city rivals Inter have romped to a league and cup double, the Rossoneri have collapsed, to the extent that they might even fail to qualify for the Champions League. Max Allegri's men are fourth, but are only ahead of Roma on head-to-head record after a run of two wins in eight. Alarmingly, Milan have failed to score in five of those eight matches.
With Roma on a run of five wins in seven, the capital club have genuine momentum, and their former captain and coach Daniele de Rossi has the chance to do his beloved Giallorossi a favour. Genoa have nothing tangible to play for, but they have lost just three of their last nine games, and on home soil they have won five of their last eight.
Milan's key attacking players have totally lost form at the worst possible time. Rafael Leao hasn't scored since the first of March, Christian Pulisic hasn't scored at all in 2026, while Niclas Füllkrug, Christopher Nkunku and Santi Gimenez have scored just seven league goals between them.
Milan are far too short at 1.84/5, and I think they'll fold under the pressure. Lay them.

Eintracht Frankfurt v Stuttgart - Demirovic to lead the way in UCL clash
Saturday 16 May, 14:30
The race for Champions League football is going down to the wire, after Stuttgart blew away Bayer Leverkusen 3-1 last week and Hoffenheim edged out ten-man Werder Bremen 1-0. Southern rivals Stuttgart and Hoffenheim are fourth and fifth respectively, separated by goal difference. Bayer Leverkusen are sixth, and need both to lose so that they can sneak through with a win over Hamburg.
Stuttgart conceded a goal in the first minute at home to Leverkusen, but then proceeded to batter their opponents relentlessly. Ermedin Demirovic was a relentless presence in attack - he scored a swift leveller, won the penalty that made it 2-1, had another goal ruled out for a marginal offside and ended up with six goal attempts.
Demirovic has now scored in his last three Bundesliga matches, and I'll back him to find the net again here at 2.245/4 on the Exchange. He'll face an Eintracht Frankfurt team that is still pushing for European qualification by nailing down seventh spot, but they are a point behind Freiburg and only ahead of Augsburg on goal difference.
Coach Albert Riera has proven to be an unpopular appointment, and is almost certainly going to be sacked, regardless of whether Frankfurt squeeze into Europa. He has delivered just four wins since replacing Dino Toppmöller as coach, and his outspoken and frankly too intense style of management has alienated many of his players.
Frankfurt have conceded 14 goals across the last seven matches, and I expect Stuttgart to take advantage of their defensive frailties here. Demirovic scored in the reverse fixture, and I fancy him to score here.
