"Harry Pell, a seasoned midfielder who knows this division, is back at AFC Wimbledon, having re-signed this week after a seven-year interval. With several strikers scoring already, who is to say the Dons don't have the recipe for success?"

While Salford could stifle Stevenage's great start, Ian Lamont expects AFC Wimbledon to win at home and Sutton to hold Mansfield...

Jackson's men look strong at home

AFC Wimbledon 2.447/5 v Barrow 3.39/4; the draw 3.412/5

Nathan Young-Coombes has hit the ground running at AFC Wimbledon. Few young loanee strikers from higher levels do so in League Two - and if they do they tend to be recalled in January.

The Brentford forward has scored three times already, alongside Ethan Chislett who has netted twice. Add in two goals from Josh Davison, on loan in this division again from Charlton, and who is to say the Dons don't have the recipe for success? Can he keep up the ratio of goals to games? Harry Pell, a seasoned midfielder who knows this division, is back, too, having re-signed this week after a seven-year interval.

Conceding five goals at Mansfield last midweek seems an aberration by Johnnie Jackson's side. They have three clean sheets otherwise, plus a 2-2 draw at home. They are unbeaten at Plough Lane and here is a chance to continue.

The question is, can they keep Barrow out? Pete Wild's men lie third after a great start themselves. Opta point out they have won four from five this season, which is as many as in their previous 22 matches.

Midfielder Harrison Neal is relishing the togetherness within the squad, believing they won without playing well at Harrogate, while dominating at Walsall. There seems little stopping Josh Gordon or Ben Whitfield at present. The bluebirds have knocked in plenty of goals, suggesting a real desire to attack. But it has not been all one way. They won 3-2 at Stockport and at home to Bradford, while beating Walsall.

The game they lost was away, at Sutton. The same could happen again in west London.

Sutton could hold Stags to a draw

Sutton 3.02/1 v Mansfield 2.568/5; the draw 3.55/2

As important as it is for an ambitious side to have a strong home record, away points will prove crucial to their promotion hopes. Last season, Mansfield had the second best home record in League Two (15 wins and four draws) but the lowest away points tally in the top eight (Sutton's finishing place, as it happens).

Nigel Clough's men have yet to score an away goal and have lost twice on the road this season. But the manager clearly has confidence in the likes of James Clarke and Stephen McLaughlin, because he announced a week or so ago all his summer transfer business was done. It was a bold statement - and now he is searching for a striker on loan after Rhys Oates tore a pectoral muscle against AFC Wimbledon.

Will Swan, on loan from Nottingham Forest since July, has already started to fill in the gap with two goals.

So are the Stags a generous price - even as match favourites - to win at Gander Green Lane? Matt Gray's hosts can be considered a large price given last season's home strengths. Last season they notched up 14 wins and five draws.

This season, they have drawn one and won one at home, while only scoring three goals in five games overall but conceding four. The second season is always likely to be the toughest. Opta point out they have failed to score in two straight league games for the first time as an EFL club.

Gray was particularly grateful to keeper Jack Rose for late saves after earning a first away point, at Grimsby, during a goalless draw. On another day Joe Kizzi could have scored. More quality in their crossing for Omar Bugiel and Donovan Wilson will be needed to counter Mansfield, but the hosts could battle out a draw.

Dennis the menace should outscore Gillingham

Carlisle 2.447/5 v Gillingham 3.412/5; the draw 3.412/5

Kristian Dennis has scored in every League Two game so far for Carlisle. Which is more than the entire Gillingham team has managed. Dennis might be the Cumbrians' ONLY scorer, but that is also an "honour" for the Gills owned by Scott Kashket, who netted their one EFL goal this season as they beat Rochdale.

The visitors picked up another point, against Walsall, last weekend, but they have conceded two or more times in each of their other three games. Neil Harris' side have conceded five on the road.

David Tutonda must be mightily relieved after his proved the winning spot kick as the Gills beat Exeter on penalties in the League Cup. Stuart O'Keefe, Elkan Baggott and Olly Lee all had chances in normal time.

Jayden Harris, 22, impressed Carlisle boss Paul Simpson on his debut and will hope for another chance on Saturday. The manager hopes to have Owen Moxon back soon from injury. The hosts should have enough to force a victory.

Kristian Dennis to score at any time and Both Teams to Score NO pays approximately 7.75-1

7.75-1

Back goals as Evans' run faces the Salford test

Salford 2.56/4 v Stevenage 3.211/5; the draw 3.55/2

Steve Evans insists Stevenage are not big spenders and have the same "competitive" budget that previous managers have had - they just didn't spend it well apparently! He was responding to comments made by Carlisle's Paul Simpson before Boro beat them last weekend.

Evans is certainly ambitious. He couldn't deliver Mansfield their desired promotion but has redeveloped his Stevenage squad hugely with 11 signings this summer. Two of them scored their first goals last weekend, Kane Smith and Max Clark.

Maybe Evans' chance to revamp the squad almost entirely (15 were released) is the difference between his current club and one of his former ones.

Luke Norris and Jamie Reid, from the old guard, also have goals this season.

Could this be the game their unbeaten run ends? Or continues with another draw? Salford have been the talking horse since arriving in this division but have not delivered on promotion.

Neil Wood's men suffered a first defeat of the season at Doncaster last Saturday. Opta say they have not lost back to back games since October last year. Despite Brandon Thomas-Asante's fourth goal of the season, early in the match. They have two wins at home so far, both without their opponents scoring. Elliot Watt and Callum Hendry are players to watch. Both sides seem capable of scoring and over 2.5 goals has to be the pick at 2.35/4.
