Wrexham are the favourites to win League Two

Under the ownership of Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, Wrexham have proppeled themselves into the EFL, and the 7/24.50 title favourites have three of their opening five games at home...

  • Wrexham kick off at the Rasecourse Ground

  • Beaten playoff finalists Stockport are 6/17.00 for the title

  • Notts County travel to Sutton on opening weekend

Newly promoted Wrexham begin life back in the EFL at home to newly relegated MK Dons at home on the opening weekend.

Wrexham, who are set to jet off to the US for a huge pre-season tour next week - where they will face Manchester United - will be delighted to see three of their opening five league games come at home.

They are the early 7/24.50 favourites for the League Two title, ahead of Stockport County 6/17.00 and Notts County 15/28.50. All three sides were playing in the National League two years ago.

Wrexham recently announced a new shirt sponsor the upcoming season, partnering with United Airlines in what is an enormous deal for a League Two club.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney continue to pull any lever they can to promote the club worldwide. They are yet to announce new signings as yet, but have been linked with players all the way up to the Championship.

Stockport, Notts County will challenge

Notts County, who were promoted along with Wrexham last season, will travel to Sutton United on the opening weekend.

They too will have ambitions of back to back promotions, though Stockport County are case and point of how difficult it can be.

Stockport eventually lost in the playoff final last season, with their slow start to the season costing them automatic promotion. Their opening match is at home to Gillingham.

Gills have promotion in sight

Speaking of Gillingham, they are forth favourites for the League Two title this season at [12/], despite spending most of last season fearing relegation.

They are also under fairly new ownership, when American tycoon Brad Galinson bought a majority stake in the club in December 2022. Neil Harris' men were staring National League in the face until Galinson joined the club, before their form in the second half of the season pulled them well away from trouble.

Investment has been promised again for Neil Harris and they are set to be another team going for the title this season. We could be in for one of the most exciting League Two campaigns for years.

Market not supporting Crawley

Crawley Town will host Bradford City on the opening weekend, but are priced at 100/1101.00 to win League Two in 2023-24, the outsiders alongside Harrogate Town.

After a disastorous season where they just survived relegation, they are another club with American ownership, currently owned by a US cryptocurrency firm.

The owners declared they too were gunning for promotion last season, though they almost were relegated alongside plenty of off-field issues. The market currently holds no trust in the current set-up.

Scott Lindsay remains in charge ahead of the new season.
