Salzburg will be happiest with point won

Group G is dead level after the opening set of fixtures, with both Red Bull Salzburg and Lille having drawn their first matches.

Of the four teams, it's Salzburg that will be probably be the happiest with the point they earned. They drew 1-1 away at Sevilla, continuing what is already a fairly lengthy unbeaten start to the season.

With Red Bull having come through the Champions League play-offs to reach this stage and the Austrian season having started in July, they have already played 14 matches (W13 D1). In addition, they won friendlies in July against Atletico Madrid and Barcelona.

It's not been the best start to the season for Lille, as they look to defend their Ligue 1 title. They dropped home points with a 0-0 draw against Wolfsburg in their first match in Group G and are only ninth in Ligue 1 after eight games (W3 D2 L1). Their form has at least picked up over the last couple of games, beating both Reims and Strasbourg 2-1.

Red Bull should have beaten Sevilla

It's Red Bull Salzburg that are the favourites at 2.0621/20, with the draw at 3.711/4 and Lille at 4.03/1.

Lille won at Strasbourg over the weekend, but that was their first away win of the season, after five attempts (D2 L2). They might have another defeat added to their tally on Wednesday.

Salzburg's start to the season has been very impressive and they really should have beaten Sevilla, having won three penalties in the first 35 minutes of that match and missing two of them. Odds of 2.0621/20 are chunky enough to back Red Bull Salzburg to win, without any caveats.
