Who could've guessed that the absence of a single defensive midfielder would have impacted a City side brimming with quality in the manner that it has this season?
Well, the absence of Rodri after his red card against Forest was certainly felt. But with him back in the side, Guardiola has a tempo setter, a player that dictates the pace of the game, and I simply don't foresee Young Boys being able to cope with that level of quality.
There was a noticeable improvement to City at the weekend with Rodri's return. Yes, they won by just a single goal, but the pace of their play was much improved.
This is of course akin to how they've been playing in the Champions League, winning both their ties 3-1 thus far.
The Leipzig performance was particularly impressive as well, with City leading by half time, amassing an xG of 2.28, and on top of that, they reduced Leipzig to just one shot on target.
Young Boys just can't match that kind of output. They're second in the Swiss top flight, and it's safe to say they're struggling in Europe.
Leipzig battered them in their own backyard, winning 3-1, with an xG of 2.67. They created chances for fun in Switzerland, and I expect City to do the same.
This might just be a step too far for Brendan Rodgers' side. Celtic may have won their last six in the league, but they face an Atletico side who have won their last five in La Liga as well.
Two of those victories were incredibly impressive as well, one being a 2-1 victory over Sociedad, the other a fantastic 3-1 display against rivals Real Madrid.
This just isn't a level of competition that Celtic are used to. The fact that they've conceded in each of their last three domestically is bad enough, and those defensive frailties were always going to translate to Europe when playing better sides.
As a result, Rodgers' men have lost both of their group games thus far, conceding five in the process.
Simeone's side meanwhile, will absolutely be looking to take control of the group here. They were unfortunate not to come away with the spoils against Lazio, and would have done so if not for some injury time heroics. But, a win against Feyenoord has them back on track.
Perhaps the killer for Celtic here is that Atletico are scoring for fun. They've netted 23 times in nine league outings, and that's an output I just don't think they can match.
I feel like a broken record at this point given my consistent praise for Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen side.
There's so much to like about them, and their early performances this season could well suggest that Bayern have a title race on their hands.
Leverkusen are playing some scintillating stuff. They sit atop the pile in the Bundesliga after eight games, with their only dropped points coming in a 2-2 draw at the Allianz with Bayern.
In that time, they've netted 25 goals, scoring two or more in every game, and three or more in six out of eight. Victor Boniface leads the way with seven, and the Nigerian summer signing has been a revelation, propelling Leverkusen to the heights they're now at.
Half time/Full time is a selection I've already backed in each of Leverkusen's Europa League games so far, and it's landed in both of them.
Sure, Qarabag might represent a slight step up in quality, but the Azerbaijani side should still be out of their depth here.
They squeaked past both Molde and Hacken 1-0, and whilst sat top of their domestic league, they've been dropping points.
There are levels to this game, and whilst Qarabag are unbeaten in the group so far, they're taking on a side matching Bayern Munich stride for stride.
To put it simply, Leverkusen should have too much.
I find it surprising that very few are talking about Fenerbahce's success this season.
From a Turkish perspective, sure, that Galatasaray win over Man United in the Champions League is the big talking point, but the fact that Fenerbahce have a 100% record in all competitions is ridiculous.
They've played and won all eight of their Super Lig outings, and they ran the gauntlet just to qualify for the Conference League.
Three ties, every single home and away leg won, and they've even started the group stage with 3-1 and 2-1 victories to boot.
That's 16 games won in a row, and it's a run that deserves more recognition than it's getting, especially when you look at the stats as well.
Fenerbahce are dominating games, and they've scored a quite ridiculous 50 goals, and conceded just nine in all competitions.
Now, whilst Ludogorets are no mugs, they're not getting close to those numbers.
They're having a rough season by their own standards, sitting in fifth place in the league, having already dropped points in five games.
On top of that, they come into this off the back of an embarrassing 7-1 defeat to Nordsjaelland in their last Conference League group game.
The Turkish giants come into this one on a high, and I think Fenerahce get the job done, as has been the case all season.
