The Premier League title race final day as it happened on Betfair
The Premier league title was retained by Manchester Utd with no major setbacks. But the final day was not without drama as Betfair's Premier League winner market showed.
Here is a round-up of the action as it happened with in-running prices on Betfair's Premier League winner market.
14:50: Unusual team news from Stamford Bridge. Bolton have named three goalkeepers in their match day squad of 16. Man Utd are [1.21] to be crowned champions, Chelsea [5.7].
15:02: After a minor delay caused by Chelsea's late emergence at Stamford Bridge, Steve Bennett decides to start the game at the JJB stadium just after 3 o'clock. Chelsea and Bolton begin a minute later.
15:13: Chelsea captain John Terry clashes with his own keeper and must be replaced. Betfair's bettors do not seem to see this as a huge influence. The prices are Man Utd [1.25] and Chelsea [5.1].
15:20: Chelsea are seeing most of the ball at Stamford Bridge, while Wigan look more of a threat in a livelier game at the JJB Stadium. With no goals though, the prices available remain steady at [1.25] for Man Utd and [5.0] for Chelsea.
15:28: Rio Ferdinand appears to handle in the area as he blocks a shot with his upper arm. Prices available on the exchanges are standing firm at [1.25] Man Utd and [5.0] Chelsea.
15:32: Man Utd have a penalty. They are now [1.1] to win the title.
15:33: Ronaldo sends Chris Kirkland the wrong way to slot the penalty home. United are in to [1.08] now and Chelsea have been matched at [19.0]. Ronaldo was heavily fancied to score and, in Betfair's to score market, he was matched as low as [1.66] and no higher than [1.95].
15:50: Half-time in both games. The prices to win the league are Man Utd [1.09] and Chelsea [10.0].
16:07: Neither game has kicked off for the second-half yet. At the JJB stadium, referee Steve Bennett will wait for Bolton and Chelsea, but Bolton aren't even out yet. Shevchenko is a half-time substitute for Makelele.
16:26: A goal from that man Shevchenko gives Chelsea the lead and puts the pressure on Man Utd. The Red Devils have traded as low as [1.05].
16:30: Sir Alex Ferguson brings on Owen Hargreaves for Paul Scholes. They need a clean sheet now, and are trading at [1.11]. Chelsea are [9.4], with 25 minutes remaining.
16:40: Wigan are battling bravely and there's plenty of action at the JJB stadium. Emile Heskey just puts a header over the bar. Only a goal will change the prices though as United are [1.1] and Chelsea [9.4].
16:44: Man Utd have scored. Ryan Giggs gets a vital goal for Man Utd and surely they'll now win the title. They're unbackable, with Chelsea at [150.0].
16:57: Man Utd celebrate as their final whistle coincides with news of a goal for Bolton at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea fans look disconsolate as the referee signals the end of that game too. The Premier League title is retained by Manchester Utd.
17:00: Betfair's Premier League winner market is closed, and over £19m of bets have been matched. Chelsea traded at a low of [2.14] and Man Utd at a season long high of [5.0].
