Fabregas and van Persie are a deadly combination at present and Wolves aren't the team to stop them on current form.
Recommended bets;
Back Arsenal -1.5 @ 2.0 in the Asian Handicap market;
Back Arsenal @ 1.35 in Next Goal market;
Back Any Unquoted @ 5.0 in Correct Score market
Jaymes Monte can't see past a convincing Arsenal victory as The Gunners begin to lengthen their stride in their assault on the Premier League summit. Best Bet: Back Arsenal -1.5 @ [2.0] in the Asian Handicap market.
Write us off at your peril! That is the message emanating from the Emirates at present as they dispatch all and sundry who stand in their way. And it is hard to argue otherwise as they climb to within five points (with a game in hand) of leaders Chelsea.
In forward Robin van Persie they have one of the most fearsome strikers in the Premier League and in Cesc Fabregas they have, in my opinion, the best player on the planet at present - try making a case for any of the other big guns on current form.
They are the league's top scorers by far; scoring at an average of 3.2 goals per game. And defensive duo Thomas Vermaelen and William Gallas appear to be developing a mutual understanding which is helping them look like a solid defensive unit.
I would go as far as saying they are the most feared side in not only English but also European football. If you were to ask any manager across the continent which team they would like to face next you can be sure that Arsenal will be toward the very bottom of that list.
Unfortunately for Mick McCarthy it is he who faces that proposition this week. Where do you start when trying to set up a team to play against Arsenal? Sit back and they'll pick you apart like your Grandmother's tapestry, try and take the game to them and they'll hit you on the counter-attack at regular intervals. I certainly don't have the answers and I've seen nothing from Mick McCarthy either this season or any time in the past to suggest that he does.
Usually I'd advise that [1.4] on an away side to beat a team that haven't lost in three games is a little short. But not here, in fact I'd be inclined to go the other way and say this is a stand out back; I would also suggest that backing 'Arsenal -1.5' at [2.0] in the Asian Handicap market is a wise move.
Although this article has been a bit of an Arsenal love in so far it may not be all doom and gloom for Wolves this week. Injury to Gael Clichy last week prompted Arsene Wenger to voice his dislike of the month of November. And it's nothing to do with an irrational fear of fireworks or the disappointment that it will be another 12 months before Halloween comes around again.
The month of November is a time when the big clubs' squads are pushed to the limit. As the Champions League group stages are concluded, World Cup qualification campaigns draw to a close and the Premier League is in full flow some players have played 20 games already this season. He hinted to the fact that this is the stage of the season where he will rotate his squad when possible, and that may bring some small respite to 'The Wanderers' but whether they have enough to beat even a second string Arsenal is doubtful.
Looking at some of the trends which these two sides have shown over the season to date brings me to the Next Goal market. Initially the [1.35] on Arsenal to hit the back of the net first may look a little short but if I were to tell you that they have scored the opening goal in 80% of their league games whilst Wolves can only lay claim to 27.2% of first match goals, I think you'd agree that it's a value back.
Finally I come to the Correct Score market and the 'Any Unquoted' option which is available at [5.0]. Arsenal have played seven teams in the bottom half of the league this season and on four occasions the 'Any Unquoted' selection has been settled as a winner, don't pile in with big stakes but this is certainly a selection to keep on the right side of.
