Goal-fest at Derby as predicted by our man Richard Walker
Those who saw Arsenal romp to a 6-2 win at Derby courtesy of an Adebayor hat-trick may have been slightly sdurprised by the scoreline but Richard Walker saw it coming...
There was a meeting at Betfair HQ this morning to discuss the possibility of beting.betfair.com writer Richard Walker taking over from fellow writer Mike Norman as the man known as "Mystical". Mike acquired the nickname based on his ability to predict what was going to happen next in the world of football but after Richard penned a preview of Arsenal's match away to Derby County last night, there may have to be a re-think.
Here is what Richard said - http://betting.betfair.com/football/premiership/premiership-betting-goalscoring-freeforall-for-the-280408.html
My preference would be to get involved with Arsenal in the Half Time market, at roughly 1.67 - Arsenal were leading 2-1 at half-time.
My 'good thing' for this game is Arsenal/Arsenal in the Half Time/Full Time list. The odds are around 1.83 - Arsenal were leading 2-1 at half-time and 6-2 at full-time.
The Correct Score market has Any Unquoted in at 4.5 and I'm not surprised. The chance of Arsenal scoring four or more is high, in my opinion - Arsenal scored six.
Over 4.5 goals which would pay about 5.1. Let's not forget this is the County side who shipped six when last at home - There were eight goals in the match
And just for fun, bung a Hat-trick to be scored into the mix at 11.5 to back. Your pulse will then quicken slightly when someone like Emmanuel Adebayor pops home his second of the night - A hat-trick was scored on the night by ...Emanuel Adebayor
Just for the record, 7 goals or more was also matched at odds of [60.0]. It's all too little too late for Arsenal who traded at a low of [1.73] for the Premiership title and [1.13] for a Top 2 finish in the Premiership. Last night's hat-trick hero Emanuel Adebayor traded at [1.95] to be the Premiership's top scorer but it looks like that award will be going to Cristiano Ronaldo this season who is on 28 goals, four ahead of Adebayor and trades at [1.03].
Richard will be previewing West Ham's visit to Man Utd on Saturday here on betting.betfair.com and you'd be well-advised to read it..
